Anti-Aging Fighter “Fisetin”

Our protagonist today, Fisetin, also called fisetin, is this type of senolytics compound. Recent research has discovered that fisetin is an exceptionally powerful anti-aging substance. Compared with other plant compounds, including quercetin, fisetin's ability to remove senescent cells is quite outstanding, both in cell cultures and in mice.

Fisetin is a plant polyphenol, flavonoid compound. It is found in many trees and plants, including several eudicots, acacias, sumacs, and others.

The earliest records of the isolation of fisetin date back to 1833, and its basic chemical properties were defined by J. Schmidt in 1886, but it was not until the 1890s that its chemical structure was defined by S. Kostanecki and finally confirmed through synthesis. Fisetin has now been identified as a secondary metabolite of many plants, found in their green parts, fruits, and bark and hardwoods. It is also found in a variety of fruits and vegetables, such as strawberries, apples, persimmons, grapes, onions and cucumbers.

Because fisetin is a natural product found in common foods, it is available as an oral dietary supplement and has no reported adverse side effects.
