Pharmacological effects:

1. Anti-fatigue effect: Oral administration of Rhodiola angustifolia prolongs the pole climbing time, swimming time and load swimming time of mice. It can shorten the recovery time after fatigue, increase enzyme, RNA and protein levels, so that muscles can recover as quickly as possible after fatigue.

2.Effect on central nervous media: Rhodiola rosea can normalize the 5-hydroxytryptamine content of mice under swimming conditions, that is, the content of central nervous media has been corrected or reached normal levels away from the normal dune. Injection of salidroside (30-300 mg/kg) into mice can reduce 5-hydroxytryptamine levels.

3.Anti-hypoxic effect: Oral administration of extracts of Rhodiola rosea, Rhodiola angustifolia, and Rhodiola crimson can cause experimental animals to show obvious antagonistic effects on various hypoxic modes, and their effects are stronger than those of ginseng and Acanthopanax senticosus. 

4.Anti-aging effect: Rhodiola rosea alcohol extract can increase the activity of SOD in red blood cells and liver of rats, and has a tendency to increase the SOD activity in myocardium. Red field flax flies can significantly extend their lifespan by drinking Rhodiola rosea extract, and the lifespan extension rate is better than that of ginseng. Rhodiola rosea can promote 2BS cell proliferation and reduce mortality, inhibit lipid peroxidation in rat cells and enhance serum superoxide dismutase activity.
